Helinox introduces “Helinox Insiders”

Helinox introduces “Helinox Insiders”, a series of short films that offer a glimpse into the daily lives of our employees and wider community.

Helinox CEO Young Lah said, “I decided to introduce Helinox Insiders to share stories of people who are creating Helinox’s brand culture together.”

The first episode of the series features the story of Ted Ganio, CEO of Helinox USA. Ted started out as a backpacking store manager with a special love for the outdoors and has been building a career in the outdoor industry for over 35 years. Following his footsteps, you will naturally be connected to the outdoor equipment he has used for a long time, the people he has formed relationships with around nature, and the brand he chose—Helinox.

On Helinox's Design

"One of the things I love most about the Helinox design is that the aesthetic and the engineering behind it looks simple, but it's not."

One of the things I love most about the Helinox design is that the aesthetic and the engineering behind it looks simple, but it's not. The product is elegant and so simple. There is no unnecessary material or clutter in the design—it's so clean. A lot of people have tried to improve on it but when you try to do that, you come to realise how much thought and work has gone into the creation. There is so much intentional thought behind the design to make it appear simple and elegant.

On Community [In The Outdoor Industry]

Community means a lot in the outdoor industry, the industry itself is a community.

Community means a lot in the outdoor industry—the industry itself is a community. Once people come into the industry, they appreciate the strength of that and stay. I found throughout my career that there were likeminded people who are in this industry just for their passion for the outdoors, and they are happy to share it. I have friends that are in this industry that I worked with 10 years ago and now I'm working with them again. It's different from other industries in that we are a community before we are an industry.
